The band played it’s first show in July of 2007. Collin and Stephen had been writing and recording Collin’s solo material for two years before deciding to form a true band.

Who are your main influences?
Muse, Radiohead, and Ben Folds.

What are you pursuing right now?
We begin recording our debut album this month and we hope to release it later this year. We love playing shows and have been touring regionally since July. We plan to continue even while we work on the album.

What is your goal or philosophy as a band?
Our goal is to create songs that are unique, aggressive, and positive. We want to entertain those who love rock music and to give a deeper meaning to those who wish to find it. We are here to play rock shows and impact anyone who will listen.

Do you have an album for sale?
Not yet but we love to put new material on the internet when we can. Our myspace is the best place to go for that and also for updates on the recording process.

Any shows coming up?
June 7th - McGee’s Irish Pub in Anderson, SC. We are playing with Daniel Machado.

Backseat Dreamer

Name: The name Backseat Dreamer comes from a line in a song I wrote for a previous band, “backseat dreams a drive by scene through the night“. I just thought it would be boring to use my real name.

Members: Backseat Dreamer is a one man band kind of scenario in a lot of ways. I (Sean Neuse) write the songs and record the instruments in a small home studio. The live set up consists of guitarist Brian Draper of The Dirty Eighties, bassist Dani Doyle of Atom Bomb Baby and Michael Barksdale aka “Culture Prophet” on drums, whom I drum for as well.

How long have you been a band? We played our first show last May. I definitely feel we have grown a lot since then, somehow we have managed to pull through a set despite whatever blown PA system we were playing through at the time.

What genre would you consider yourself? Well..dream pop, electronic, experimental, dance somewhere along those lines…I guess.

Who are your main influences? My main influences always seem to change over time, but David Bowie’s album Low, Depeche Mode’s Violator, My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless those are just a few that have had an influence. Recently I’ve listened to Michael Jackson’s album Off The Wall and M83 Digital Shades vol.1.

What are you pursuing right now? Right now I’m recording new material and looking for the right label to release an album on.

What is your greatest accomplishment to date? Under the Radar Magazine is releasing my song “February Fires” on their CD compilation for the issue coming out in April. Some online and college radio stations have put the track in their rotation as well.

Do you have an album for sale? I have mp3s for sale on MySpace, but a lot of times I give out music to people that come check out our shows.

Any shows coming up? The next show will more than likely be at The Real Gypsy. Right now I’m working on a light show for the band, but more dates will be posted on MySpace throughout the spring and summer.

NOEL THRASHER

Band Name: Noel Thrasher

Band members and the instruments you play: Noel Thrasher - vocals and guitar

How long have you been playing? Have you or are you currently playing in any other bands? I’ve been playing guitar for almost 4 years and I’ve been writing songs since I was two. When I was growing up I was in a “band” with my dad called BFF (Best Friends Forever), some of the greatest harmonies of the 20th century. I used to be in a band called Super Baby Star where a bunch of friends and I got together and had fun and made music.

What genre would you consider your music? I suppose most of it’s considered folk.

Who/what are your main influences? When I was growing up I always loved and listened to Bob Dylan and Niel Young. As I got older I got into different singer/songwriters like Leonard Cohen, Towns Van Zant, Elliott Smith and Vashti Bunyon.

What are you pursuing right now? I already have a good bit of songs recorded but I’d like to re-record them and put out a little album. I also would like more shows in-town and out.

What is your goal or philosophy as an artist? I guess I’d just like to communicate with people and have a positive impact on the lives of others.

Do you have an album for sale? I have a CDR anyone can buy. Just contact me on myspace and I’ll send you one.

Any shows coming up? I have a show in early November at Coffee Underground. But if anyone would like to know about other shows if/when they appear, they can look at my silly myspace.
